The Birth
Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going? 1897-1898 Paul Gauguin
FANTAISIE aims to display the moment of birth.
The moment of birth is an intense experience containing every moment of life that is neither long nor short.
As the most humane experience, the moment of birth is considered to be carrying the absolute pureness of life.
The moment of birth can potentially act as a rooted unconscious memory that may govern entire lives of those who endured the moment. Right before the life begins, there’s a moment where an enormous amount of condensed energy can be felt – that is the very moment when the purest life begins, serving as a starting point.
Luna Monello is an embodiment of the very moment when the life is released from an egg.
A mischievous kid born from the moon, we recall an absolute purity that the moment of birth provides us every moment.
If one can catch the moment of birth and subordinate it to current time and space, and may even configure it to vivid emotions,
wouldn’t we be able to move a step closer to answering our original question of “Who am I?”
Above all, if we can bring our once forgotten innocence back to our lives through the child that mirrors us,
anyone can take weight off their shoulders - at least momentarily.
A moment of recess and consolation from the space from the bottom of our hearts – not the space far above the sky – is what we intend to convey.
Further, we express our utmost respect to the sacrifice and care that leads to the moment of birth.
탄생 (The Birth)

우리는 어디에서 오며, 무엇이며, 어디로 가는가
FANTAISIE 판타지에는 탄생의 찰나를 담아내고자 한다.
탄생의 순간은 길고도 짧은 인생의 매 순간을 함축한 경험이고, 가장 인간적이며, 생명의 절대 순수함을 머금고 있다고 본다.
탄생의 찰나는 그 때를 이겨낸 사람들에게는 무의식한 추억으로 한평생을 아우르는 뿌리가 될지도 모르며,
삶에 대한 불꽃을 터트리기 직전, 막대한 에너지를 응축하고 있음이 느껴지는 바로 그 순간이 가장 순수한 생명의 시작이자 출발점이라고 할 수 있겠다.
달, 난자에서 시작되어 생명이 발산되는 찰나의 모습을 형상화한 Luna Monello 루나 모넬로 즉, 달에서 태어난 장난꾸러기를 통해
우리의 삶, 매 순간에서 탄생의 찰나가 주는 절대 순수함을 떠올린다.
탄생의 찰나를 포착하여 현재의 시간과 공간에 종속시키며, 뚜렷한 감정으로 형상화할 수 있다면,
"나는 누구인가"라는 근원적인 질문에 한 발자국 더 다가갈 수 있을 것이다.
무엇보다 우리의 모습을 비추어 보는 투영체인 이 아이를 통해 잊고 있었던 순수함을 끄집어낸다면
누구에게나 주어진 삶이라는 무게를 잠시라도 덜 수 있지 않을까.
저 높은 하늘의 우주가 아닌 마음속 깊은 우주에서의 짧은 휴식과 위로를 전하고 싶다.
더불어 탄생의 찰나를 이뤄내는 희생과 보살핌에 대한 존경을 담는다.
